Thai PE offers skyrocketed in China

Chinese players reported to have received fresh PE offers from a major Thailand producer for October shipment with dramatic hike that shock the market. Compared to the last offers given during end of August, prices for HDPE jumped $95/ton to reach $1290/ton for film and $1295/ton, CFR China, LC AS term.

To make the sentiment more tense, the producer also opens new prices for LLDPE c4 film at $1380/ton, LDPE film at $1330/ton and LDPE heavy duty at $1260/ton with the same shipping and payment term. As a rectification, the mentioned LLDPE c4 film price is not an error.     

A distributor commented, “Our principal supplier shows no intention to loose their stance on the offered cargoes claiming limited supply. Buyers are shock with the latest price list and might need couple of day to adjust the acceptance levels. However, thanks to continuous surging futures contract, these import offers are still relatively competitive.”
