China's Shenhua XinJiang extended shutdown period of PP, LDPE plants

As reported earlier by CommoPlast, Shenhua XinJiang Coal-based New Materials Project has unexpectedly shut its PP and LDPE plants since 21 July 2017 due to cracking on granulator bearing. According to a source closed to the company, the initial schedule of restart was after 20 days of off-stream, however, due to recent shortage of coal supply as a result of environmental inspection which have been carry out and will sustain until 13 September 2017, the shutdown schedule for both plants has been extended until mid of September 2017.

Located at Urumqi, China, the company has a 450,000 ton/year coal-based PP unit and a 270,000 ton/year coal-based PE (LDPE) unit.
