Taiwanese major introduced large hike on September PVC shipment

According to market sources, a major Taiwanese producer has announced September shipment offers for PVC to regional market with $60/ton increased month on month, reaching $950/ton to China and Southeast Asia and $1020/ton to India, all based on CIF/CFR, LC AS term. Export offers stand at $910/ton FOB Taiwan.

This comes as an odd as Indian buyers are away for the National Day holiday, aside the fact that the extent of price increment bit market initial expectation. A converter in Southeast Asia said, “New prices are too high and we need serious consideration before making additional purchases.” Another buyer added, “We are covered till October and might withdraw to the sideline this time as end product business remain weak.”
