Qatari producer introduces price hike for PE to China

Chinese players reportedly received fresh offers from a major maker from Qatar with an increased of $5/ton for LLDPE C4 film to reach $1150/ton and $15/ton hike for LDPE film to reach $1210/ton as compared to last week, all based on CFR China, LC 60 days term.

A trader commented, “Prices continue to move higher, but we have placed only a container of the cargoes yesterday due to enquiries from one of our customers, as we managed to sold at about $10-15/ton higher than the price list. However, lots of other cargoes with previous cheaper costs are arriving in recent 1-2 weeks time hence we believed that there shall be some price correction in the near term before another round of price hike by next month.”
