Indonesia's Lotte Chemical Titan reaches on-spec metallocene PE production

PT Lotte Chemical Titan has reportedly achieved on-spec metallocene PE (mPE) production during the trial run in late July 2017 and commercial run might soon kick-start, market sources said.

The company switched its stand-alone LLDPE line in Cilegon, Indonesia to produce mPE with aim to diversify product portfolio focusing on high value added grades. The line is designed to have an annual capacity of 200,000 tons/year. At the moment, the company is planning to switch LLDPE and mPE production at quarterly interval.

Source close to the company said, “We would start offering product sampling to customers in Indonesia, Malaysia and China in the near term. In order to ensure the stable output for both mPE and LLDPE c4, we might need to adjust the production schedule at the other 250,000 tons/year HDPE/LLDPE swing line. From which, HDPE supply might be affected.”
