Major Southeast Asia producer lifted metallocene PE price to China

Chinese players reportedly received new offers for metallocene PE from a major Southeast Asian maker with an increased of $20/ton compared to last month, to reach $1250-1270/ton, all on a CFR China, LC at sight basis.

A trader commented, ”Recent appreciation of RMB caused imported cargoes to be announced with price hike despite slower market sentiment in China this week. We face resistance from our customers regarding these price levels hence we are expecting for some discounts in the coming week since overall buying appetite is still weak at the moment.”
