Market sources reported that Brazil’s Braskem is planning to shut its gas-fed steam cracker and downstream units by end of the month for a scheduled turnaround.
Based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the cracker has a production capacity of 520,000 tons/year. Meanwhile, the complex also consists of 75,000 tons/year of propylene unit, 310,000 tons/year of PP unit and 540,000 tons/year of LLDPE/HDPE swing plant. The lines are expected to remain off-stream for a month.
