Malaysian producer announced PE offers to Vietnam, buying interest seems revived

Vietnamese buyers reported that a major Malaysian producer has announced new PE prices to the country with $10/ton reduction on LDPE film, yet HDPE film see a hike of same amount. Latest prices stand at $1230/ton for LDPE film and $1120/ton for HDPE film, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.

Buyers here are showing more interest in LDPE film cargoes claiming that this level is reasonable at the current market condition. A good number of deals for Southeast Asian LDPE film cargoes are observed in the range $1200-1210/ton CIF Vietnam this week. A buyer commented, “Therefore, we requested for a small discount and might proceed with regular purchases this month.” Meanwhile, demand for HDPE film remains below expectation despite limited cargoes available.
