Thai major announced new PE offers to China, supplies remain tight

A major Thailand producer has announced fresh weekly PE prices to China today with additional $10/ton reduction on metallocene PE, reaching $1190/ton CFR China, stable offers for LDPE film at $1145/ton, $15/ton hike for LDPE heavy duty at $1180/ton. Meanwhile, the maker also offered HDPE film and yarn at $1110/ton and $1120/ton respectively, and LLDPE film at $1160/ton, all on a CFR China, LC AS term, for shipment on beginning of September.

A trader received the new offer commented, “Supply is rather limited, especially for HDPE cargoes due to the on-going shutdown. We have an inquiries for 400 tons and the supplier only able to allocate 72 tons of HDPE to us. The general demand condition is not very strong, yet we believed that tight availability from overseas sellers could limited the downside in the near term."
