Taiwanese major lifted August PVC prices to Asia

According to market sources, a major Taiwanese producer has announced fresh PVC prices for August shipment to Asia market with $20/ton hike from last month. Latest prices stand at $950/ton to India and $890/ton to Southeast Asia and China, all based on CIF/CFR, LC AS term. Export offers stand at $850/ton FOB Taiwan.

Indian buyers again withdraw to the side-line to evaluate the likely market direction, from which buying interest is not very strong at the first sight. A market source commented, “This hike is mainly driven by restricted supply of Chinese carbide based material. Demand in India is not very healthy as most businesses are more concentrate on the newly implemented GST. We prefer not to jump into purchases immediately.”
