Thai producer offered discount on HDPE cargoes to Vietnam

A major Thailand producer announced fresh weekly HDPE offers to Vietnam today with $10/ton reduction from last week reaching $1140/ton for HDPE film and $1155/ton for HDPE yarn, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. The producer is not planning to give any additional discount claiming limited quantity and healthy demand from other market.

A source close to the producer said, “We are also thinking of diverting the quantity to Japan where the margin is better. Demand in Southeast Asia is subdue ahead of the long Ramadan holidays. Our plant is still running at reduced rate at the moment.”
