Thailand producer announces PP, HDPE offers to Vietnam

A major Thailand producer reportedly announced fresh weekly offers for both HDPE and PP to Vietnam mostly at softer levels compared to last week. In fact, latest HDPE and homo-PP offers indicated $10-15/ton reduction from the initial prices given in previous week.

The producer price list stand at $1140/ton for HDPE film and blow molding, $1160/ton for HDPE yarn, $1055/ton for homo-PP, $1060/ton for PP block copolymer and $1235/ton for PP coating, all based on CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.

A source close to the producer informed, “These allocations were initially for China market. However, buying interest in China is really weak recently, therefore we decided to divert the cargoes to Vietnam. We are monitoring respond from Vietnamese buyers while also analyzing other potential outlet.”
