Thailand's PTTGC to shut No. 2 cracker for maintenance

According to market sources, PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) Public Co Ltd is planning to shut both its No. 1 and No. 2 olefins unit of its No. 2 cracker for a scheduled turnaround.

Based in Map Ta Phut, Thailand, the No. 1 unit is able to produce 515,000 tons/year of ethylene and 310,000 tons/year of propylene, meanwhile the No. 2 unit is able to produce 400,000 tons/year of ethylene and 50,000 tons/year of propylene. No. 1 olefins unit is expected to shut in end of May 2017 for about 40 days and No. 2 olefins unit will be shut in mid of July 2017 for 10-12 days.
