Major Thai producer slashed PE offers to China

Market players in China reportedly received new offers from major Thailand maker today for June shipment with a decrease of $15/ton for HDPE film and LLDPE film to reach $1135/ton and $1185/ton respectively, $20/ton for HDPE yarn at $1155/ton, $25/ton for LDPE film at $1220/ton, $30/ton for LDPE heavy duty at $1240/ton and $10/ton for metallocene LLDPE to reach $1310/ton, compared to last week, all on a CFR China, LC at sight term.

A trader commented, “Our supplier informed that they tried to offered as low as $1130-1135/ton for HDPE film since last weekend to test on market feedback and managed to conclude some deals hence this week they cut prices on their new offers today. However, market sentiment is weak recently and we are expecting for softer trend in the near term.”
