Malaysian maker rollover LDPE offers to Vietnam

According to market sources, a major Malaysian producer has rollover LDPE film offers to Vietnam from last month at $1370/ton, CIF, LC AS term due to limited availability. This is resulted from the nearly 10 days shutdown earlier this month on water supply issues, which also cause moderate delay in local delivery.

Buyers in Vietnam are not showing much interest in the cargoes claiming softer offers from other Southeast Asian suppliers while it appears that the LDPE film market still has room for further reduction. A market source added, “Our cargoes purchased in previous month just arrived and we already made loses. This month we might skip purchases since the risk is too high.”
