Thai's LDPE film offers softened in Vietnam

A major Thailand producer has announced fresh weekly PE offers to Vietnam this week with additional $20/ton reduction from previous offers for LDPE film cargoes, reaching $1320/ton CIF Vietnam, LC AS term. The maker did not offer any HDPE cargo this week, sources said.

Although limited availability is keeping the LDPE market relatively more stable than other grade, buyers in the country are still expressing much of reluctance in accepting the current prices. “We think LDPE film might continue to inch lower in the coming week, yet the reduction range might not be large given a number of shutdown taking place this month.”

Another buyers placed bid below the $1300/ton threshold said, “We plan to make a small purchase if the supplier accept out idea level. There are several off-grade LDPE film cargoes just arrive Vietnam main-port which might affect local pricing.”
