Explosion at Reliance's Patalganga plant, operation unaffected

A minor explosion took place at Reliance Industries' (RIL) petrochemicals plant in Patalganga (India) earlier this week causing one injuries, though the operations at the plant have not been affected.
The cause of the explosion is identified as a result of a choked up pipeline, leading to the gasket opening up and then causing the blast.
Reliance’s facilities in Patalganga mainly produce polyester yarn and aromatic such as Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA). The company’s PTA production at Patalganga is 330,000 tons/year. Reliance’s PTA output stand at 4.2 million tons/year with three plants located in Patalganga, Hazira and Dahej.
