As reported earlier, Malaysia's Lotte Chemical Titan invested 300 billion Korean won ($257 million) in 2016 to revamp its naphtha crackers in Johor, Malaysia, and the construction work is on track to complete by this July.

Upon resuming operation, the total ethylene output would increase by 92,000 tons/year to reach 1.172 million tons/year. Propylene production is expected to increase by 170,000 tons/year at 580,000 tons/year.

The company has also engaged in an expansion project at  its existing PP plant at the same petrochemical complex and would complete the construction by June 2018. This would boost LCT’s total PP capacity by 200,000 tons/year from the current output of 390,000 tons/year, roughly matching the increases in propylene output.
