Thailand producer cuts PE offers to Vietnam

A major Thailand producer has announced fresh PE offers to Vietnam this week with reduction, following the general trend in the country. Latest offers indicated $20/ton drop in LDPE film prices, reaching $1370/ton while HDPE film witness $10/ton reduction to $1200/ton, CIF Vietnam, LC AS term.

Buyers in the country are not showing strong interest in the latest offers claiming that other Thailand suppliers have conclude HDPE film at $30-40/ton lower. A market source commented, “We are seeing supply for PE in general is improving and with the current upstream costs, very likely that more discount would emerge in the near term. Therefore, we prefer not to make large replenishment this week, instead only buy on need basis.”
