Media: Indonesia's Chandra Asri mull over second petchem plant

According to media report, Indonesia’s PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk is conducting a feasibility study to build the second integrated petrochemical complex in Cilegon, Banten, Indonesia, just adjacent to the existing plant.
It is reported that the company would liaison with the government regarding fiscal incentives to accelerate the project. At the moment, there is no detailed released on the shareholders structure, however, the project aims to build a ethylene cracker with annual capacity of 1 million tons aside various downstream derivatives.
According to the report, Indonesia domestic PP and PE consumption in 2017 could reach 3 millions tons/year from which nearly 60 per cent are import material. The new project could reduce the country’s dependency on import substaintially.
