Thai maker down adjusted PE offers to China on persistent weak demand

A major maker from Thailand has announced new offers today with a decreased of $10/ton for HDPE film and yarn to reach $1200/ton and $1210/ton respectively, $50/ton reduction for metallocene LLDPE at $1400/ton as compared to last week, all on a CFR China, LC at sight term, for shipment by end of March.

A trader commented, “Recent weak market sentiment in China has caused our supplier to cut their offers, there are no offers for LDPE and LLDPE film this time due to upcoming turnaround as well as production switching to metallocene grades. We are not optimistic about the outlook in the near term as buyers are not interested to place any orders today, mostly preferring to monitor further as prices in domestic market is still weakening.”
