According to media report, the US Department of Commerce would announce final decision in introducing anti-dumping tariffs on imported truck and bus tyres from China on 6 March 2017.

In the preliminary finding late last year, the Department plans to impose duties ranging from 20.87 to 22.57 per cent, varied between manufacturers. The anti-dumping duties are in addition to the countervailing duties of 17.06 - 23.38 per cent Therefore, China’s tyres makers might face combined duties of up to 45.95 per cent.

Players in the petrochemical industry are paying close attention to the decision as this could have adverse effect on butadiene demand from Chinese customers. At the moment, butadiene costs based on FOB Korea term remain on the multi-year high level, at $3000/ton due to limited supply.
