Indian players: Labour strike affect local PVC supply

According to Indian players, the recent labour strike in the country has caused production interruption at one of the major domestic PVC producer, which is expected to tighten the supply. It is unsure on how severe is the impact on the producer’s operation rate, however, the labour strike has been on going since 3 February 2017.

A trader in the country informed, “The labour strike has affected the supply, yet demand hold steady. Availability will be tightened and price might firm up again in the coming days. We hope the producer would resume normal production rate soon.”

Another trader added, “The production interruption is likely to affect the southern area where the plant located. We think market sentiment would therefore strengthen in the coming days.”
