Weak demand forced major Thai cuts PE offers to China

A major producer from Thailand has announced new offers today with some adjustments compared to last week, with reduction of $10-15/t for HDPE film and yarn at $1165/ton and $1170/ton respectively, $5/ton decreased for LLDPE film to reach $1250/ton, similar reduction range for LDPE film and heavy duty to reach $1360/ton and $1390/ton respectively, and metallocene LLDPE at $1350/ton, all on a CFR China, LC at sight term, for shipment on second half of February 2017.

A trader informed, “Market sentiment is weak and our supplier tried to cut their offers in order to attract some buying interests. However, our customers did not show any positive feedback today even though prices are open for negotiations.”
