Indonesia to adjust import duties on PP, PE from various origins

According to the latest Circular released by the Indonesian government, the country is down adjusting import duties on PP and PE from India and Japan starting 1 January 2017, following the free trade agreement between ASEAN and the respective partner country.

Based on the ASEAN – India Free Trade Agreement, import LLDPE and LDPE from India to Indonesia will be subjected to an import duty of only 4.15% throughout 2017 and would reduce to 4% by 2018. Meanwhile, import homo-PP from India would be at 8% in 2017 and 7.85% in 2018.

The circular also read that import homo-PP from Japan to the country shall stand an import duty of 0.9% in 2017.
