Southeast Asian major lifted PP, LDPE film prices

According to market sources, a major Southeast Asian producer has announced January delivery offers to regional buyers at $20/ton hike on all LDPE film cargoes. The make has also lifted PP prices by $20/ton, except PP block copolymer increased by $30/ton from last month.

Latest price list stand at $1140/ton for homo-PP, $1250/ton for PP block copolymer and $1320/ton for PP random copolymer, all based on CIF/DAP Southeast Asia, LC AS term. For LDPE, offers are at $1380/ton for film, 1420/ton for injection and $1450/ton for lamination, with the same delivery and payment term.   

Regional buyers are not very receptive toward the new offers pointing to weaker sentiment and uncertain outlook during first quarter 2017. A buyer commented, “However, our supplier claimed not having quantity and we have to consider our purchases really carefully.”
