Thailand's IRPC to expand PP production in 2017

According to media reports, Thailand’s IRPC is investing 10 billion baht ($280 million) to expand its petrochemical output which aim to boost long term earning growth. The expansion project is designed to increase the company’s polypropylene (PP) production by 63% or 300,000 tons from current capacity, to reach 775,000 tons by mid of 2017. With this, IRPC become the largest PP make in Thailand and the second largest in Southeast Asia.

In July this year, the company also achieved stable operation rate at its new deep catalytic cracking (DCC) unit, which produce 320,000 tons/year of propylene and 50,000 tons/year of ethylene.
