South Korea's LG Chem to shut SM unit for maintenance
According to market sources, LG Chem Corporation is planning to shut its No. 1 and No. 2 styrene monomer (SM) units for a scheduled turnaround in March-April 2017.
Based in Yeosu, South Korea, the No. 1 and No. 2 SM plants have a production capacity of 200,000 tons/year and 300,000 tons/year respectively. They are expected to remain off-stream for about 3 weeks.
