After initial plan of postponing the overhaul at its petrochemical complex to the first quarter of 2017, the company then decided to stick to the shutdown schedule.

Sources close to the company informed that it has taken the 1.3 millions tons/year ethane cracker off-stream last night, 10 November 2016, for approximate three (3) weeks.

Down stream units including the no. 2 PP line, making 350,000 tons/year of PP block copolymer, 250,000 tons/year of HDPE unit and a 650,000 tons/year LLDPE unit will also be shut in November for the same duration. Only no. 1 PP line, producing 350,000 tons/year homo-PP would continue operating at normal rate. A producer source said December PP and PE allocation to Asia market would be affected.
