Chinese bidders remained enthusiastic about making replenishment on the Shenhua auction platform, driven by the resilient futures market and reduced auction volume.

Chinese bidders remained enthusiastic about making replenishment on the Shenhua auction platform, driven by the resilient futures market and reduced auction volume. The producer managed to achieve healthy sales results even after lifting auction prices by CNY20/ton for homo-PP and CNY100/ton for LLDPE.
As China will be off for the long weekend holiday starting Thursday, traders continued to indulge in the market for necessary replenishments which may offer some support for prices in the near term.

Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co is currently the largest coal-based polyolefins producer in China, operates under four subsidiaries, namely: Shenhua Xinjiang Coal-based New Materials Project, Shenhua Yulin Energy Co Ltd, Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co Ltd and Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group (Ningmei).
The company has an annual capacity of 2.65 million tons/year of PP, 750,000 tons/year of HDPE/LLDPE and 570,000 tons/year of LDPE.
