Local producer rollovers May PP, PE offers in Malaysia amid sluggish demand

Following a brief reduction in April, a major Malaysian producer decided to roll over PP and PE offers for May delivery claiming reduced sales pressure even though demand in this market weakens visibly following the Ramadan holiday.

“We expect PP offers to drop again because new supply from PrefChem is more regular now while the regional market is struggling to sustain any potential increases. Our customers have not responded to the new offers,” said, a trading house.

Among the grades, sources said that inquiries for HDPE film remain stable thanks to the supply tightness on a global scale.
