12 April 2023 - Shenhua's coal-based PP and PE Auction Results
Buying interest on the Shenhua auction platform revived strongly by mid of the week with both LLDPE and PPBC secure 100% transactions on the available quantity without any discounts.

Buying interest on the Shenhua auction platform revived strongly by mid of the week with both LLDPE and PPBC securing 100% transactions on the available quantity without any discounts. On the other hand, the maker offered CNY140/ton reduction on coal-based homo-PP parcels, but still buyers retain a certain level of conservativeness. The discrepancies in purchasing interest between homo-PP and LLDPE might persist in the near term considering the supply differential.
Background:
Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co is currently the largest coal-based polyolefins producer in China, operates under four subsidiaries, namely: Shenhua Xinjiang Coal-based New Materials Project, Shenhua Yulin Energy Co Ltd, Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co Ltd and Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group (Ningmei).
The company has an annual capacity of 2.65 million tons/year of PP, 750,000 tons/year of HDPE/LLDPE and 570,000 tons/year of LDPE.
