Taiwan's Formosa to shut HDPE unit 

According to industry sources, Formosa Plastic Corporation (FPC) is planning a brief shutdown at its HDPE unit by end of August 2016 for a few days due to lack of ethylene supply after the company took its No. 2 cracker off stream for a 55 days maintenance shutdown. 

Based in Mailiao, Taiwan, the HDPE unit has a production capacity of 320,000 ton/year. Meanwhile, the productions at its 235,000 ton/year LDPE/EVA swing plant and 260,000 ton/year LLDPE unit will not be affected.
