Shenhua auction’s sales trend lower today approaching the long Lunar New Year break. LLDPE sales nosedived to just 3.7% from the previous day’s 92.9% despite CNY130/ton discount. CommoPlast was informed that key LLDPE buyers in the agricultural sector have already taken enough stocks and retreat to the sidelines.
While the auction prices for homo-PP dropped CNY160/ton, the sales percentage seemed decent enough with a larger auction volume in place.

Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co is currently the largest coal-based polyolefins producer in China, operates under four subsidiaries, namely: Shenhua Xinjiang Coal-based New Materials Project, Shenhua Yulin Energy Co Ltd, Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co Ltd and Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group (Ningmei).
The company has an annual capacity of 2.65 million tons/year of PP, 750,000 tons/year of HDPE/LLDPE and 570,000 tons/year of LDPE.
