Domestic PP offers plunge sharply in Indonesia; PE registered minor gains
On the first trading day of the week, a major local producer in Indonesia decided to slash spot PP offers sharply to counter the persistently sluggish demand condition and the softening import market.

Sources said that prices in the distribution market remain more competitive and given the soft end-product businesses, there is no rush in proceeding with new purchases at the moment.
“The downward pressure from the import market is rather significant. The demand for both PP and PE is not strong. Following the price cuts from the producer, we might see some adjustments in the distribution market as well,” a buyer added.
