Local LLDPE film prices move south in Vietnam

Vietnamese traders this week reportedly down adjusted locally LLDPE film prices by VND400,000-600,000/ton ($18-27/ton) compared to last week in the face of waning demand. Sources added that the supply tightness condition has been eased to a certain extent with the arrival of previous purchased cargoes, giving buyers more bargaining power even international ground still suffer from limited availability.

A trader offers locally held Middle Eastern LLDPE film at VND31,200,000/ton ($1270/ton without VAT) FD Vietnam, cash term said, “Buyers are very much holding tight on the wait and see stance after the energy market tumbled to the lowest level in three months. We did not receive any bid today, which we find it to be strange, considering the current state of supply from international suppliers. We have yet to proceed with additional replenishment this week.”

Domestic LLDPE film in Vietnam is currently reported at VND30,800,000-31,300,000/ton ($1255-1275/ton without VAT) FD Vietnam, cash term.
