Indonesian producer lifts PE offers after a brief offer suspension
A key local producer in Indonesia has resumed offering for PE after the suspension last week with substantial hikes, citing the rising upstream ethylene costs while maintaining PP unchanged.

Sources said that the local PE market has been dwindling for too long while PP prices are now facing stiff resistance from the market, hence, the unsynchronized hikes.
“Buyers have mostly completed the replenishment earlier last week and show little interest in the new prices. The market is at a multi-year high while converters are still unable to transfer the costs to end-product selling prices. Trading activities might reach a standstill this week,” a market source commented.
