Note that the producer did not offer PP cargoes in February.
The latest PP offers receive limited responses from the market taking into account the large premium these cargoes carry over other origins such as Vietnam and China.
According to data from CommoPlast, the producer’s homo-PP yarn and injection offers are $120-140/ton above Vietnamese materials and $190-230/ton higher than Chinese cargoes.
“We are shocked by the HDPE offers, too. Prices are going up too quickly while we are still unable to increase end-product selling prices. Due to the Omicron wave, many retailers refused to place new PO even though the Ramadan season is starting soon,” a converter added.
