Local PP, PE offers in Indonesia continue to gallop higher
On the first trading day of the week, a key local producer in Indonesia opens fresh PP and PE offers with additional increases. Market sources said that the maker has been attempting to catch up with the surging energy complex in recent weeks regardless of the dwindling demand condition.

There have not been any major changes in terms of demand. Manufacturers prefer to wait on the sideline amid the difficulties to secure new PO for finished goods at the new price levels.
“The new PP prices are facing stiff resistance from the market; however, we think HDPE film remains very much acceptable. With the import market moving higher, we expect the producer to implement additional increases on PE cargoes later today,” a trading house commented.
