Local producer moderately lifted October PP, PE offers in Malaysia

Malaysian customers have received October delivery offers for both PP and PE from a key local producer with moderate increases from September, following the development in the regional market.

Demand in Malaysia remains mediocre even though the government has eased the COVID-19 lockdown measures to allow the manufacturing sector to ramp up operating rates as vaccination rates increased.
“Given the recent price hikes in China and the improving buying interest regionwide, we think Malaysian customers would accept the new price list. Besides, availability is a bit tight,” a local trader commented.
