Spot PP and PE market in Indonesia opens the new week with additional decreases from the previous week, in line with market players’ expectations considering the persistently sluggish demand condition in the country.

In spite of the sharp price cuts, sources said that the producer’s price list remains well above the distribution market, which encourages buyers to hold the wait-and-see position.

“Customers are very cautious. Large buyers continue to look for cargoes in the import market, especially for PP grades because of the large price gap with local materials. We have yet to see any support for a rebound in the local prices,” a trader reported.

Local PP and PE market in Indonesia registered another round of reductions
