Indonesian buyers on the first trading day of the week reported having received fresh spot offers from a major local producer, which sees minor increases on PE cargoes while PP holds steady from the previous week.

Sources said that the local PE market is facing less pressure than PP due to the lack of import arrival, while competitive Chinese material is forcing local suppliers to soften the stance on homo-PP yarn cargoes to attract purchasing interest.

“Demand in the local market is not strong. Customers mostly purchase hand-to-mouth basis in the distribution market for better pricing. The near-term outlook is not very bullish,” a trader informed.
