In the first price announcement, the producer drastically lifted PP offers mostly by more than $120/ton compared to the previous week while the extent of price hike for PE was more varied, ranging between $23-168/ton.
In the second price adjustment, the maker slightly increased PE prices by $10/ton while keeping PP unchanged.
Demand in Indonesia has been softening since late last week as manufacturers step to the sideline to negotiate with end-product buyers before making replenishment. Trading activities are sluggish, though players believed that the retailing market might see more transactions in the next two to three days as small-scale buyers become more receptive to the new prices.
