A major Malaysian producer has opened fresh PP and PE offers to Indonesia for December shipment with an additional reduction from the previous month as continuous falling domestic ground in this market pressured overseas suppliers.

The initial response from the market is not very positive. Buyers are comparing the latest offers from the producer with local and other cargoes, which apparently are more competitive.
Several buyers have expressed the buy ideas for LDPE film at the same price level the producer concluded in the nearby Vietnam market at $950-960/ton CIF, LC AS term.
“Meanwhile, we think that homo-PP cargoes must be moving closer to the $1000/ton threshold in order to attract buying interest. It is very difficult for us to accept the list price,” a buyer commented.
