It is reported that a major local producer in Malaysia has announced November delivery offers for both PP and PE. The latest price list sees a large reduction in HDPE offers, in line with the recent development in the regional market.

Apparently, demand in Malaysia remains softer than expected and the availability of competitive cargoes in the distribution market is creating tremendous pressure for the producer.
“In fact, import cargoes for HDPE film are already juggling around the low $800/ton threshold based on the CIF term. It is challenging to attract customers now,” a market source said.
Meanwhile, in spite of the cut in PP prices, offers for homo-PP remain relatively higher than other markets within the region at the moment.
