It is reported that a major Thailand producer has announced fresh weekly PE offers to China with an additional hike from last week. It appears that lack of inventories pressure is the main support for the hike, however, no immediate deals have been reported at the time this report is published.

The producer is not having LDPE cargoes to offers given the on-going shutdown at the 300,000 tons/year unit. A source close to the producer informed that supply for this grade might remain tight in the coming week as well.
“We just find the new offers are not very attractive. In the meantime, Taiwanese HDPE cargoes are still available at below the $1100/ton threshold, which distract buyers from the Thai materials,” a market source said.
