A major Thailand producer has announced fresh PE offers to China at firmer levels compared to the pre-holiday week citing the lack of the inventories pressure.

The maker’s price list and the changes are shown in the following table:

Chinese buyers have been portraying a relatively conservative stance toward fresh purchases for PE cargoes looking at the recent plunge in the upstream ethylene costs. “The latest price list is a little bit high. We are still waiting for other suppliers to open new offers before making any decision,” a buyer said.

“Buyers are not eager, but we are in no rush to adjust offers due to lack of inventories stemming from plant shutdown. We are on the wait and see position now,” a source close to the producer added.
