Indian PE cargoes emerged in China, Vietnam after weeks of absence

Major Indian producer re-emerges in China and Vietnam again this week after absence nearly three weeks in the market. The latest offers from the producers are regarded as competitive against other Middle Eastern cargoes in Vietnam and a number of buyers here started to ask for $10-20/ton discount to procure some quantity.

The latest price list for both China and Vietnam is shown in the following table:

“The available quantity this time is only 200 tons for each grade, and therefore, it is less likely for us to accept bids below the $1100/ton threshold for LLDPE film” an international trader offered to Vietnam said.

Vietnamese buyers are actively searching for low price LLDPE film cargoes to fill in the supply gap due to the shortage of recycled materials in the local ground.

Meanwhile, Chinese buyers started to take these cargoes into serious consideration after a brief distraction observed on the first trading day of the week. “Major Saudi Arabia maker lifted LLDPE film after small deals at $1120/ton in the previous day. We might be able to obtain Indian LLDPE film at below $1100/ton depending on the payment term. Despite the rocky market condition, we are positive about September outlook,” a buyer said.
