Malaysia’s Lotte Chemical Titan (M) Sdn Bhd is set to startup its newly constructed PP plant by tomorrow, 11 July 2018 – about a month later than initial plan, a source close to the company said.
Based in the Southern state of Johor, Malaysia, the new unit has an annual output of 200,000 tons/year. It is informed that the new plant will be producing homo-PP injection grade first followed by copolymer-PP random grade later.
The new PP plant is part of the company’s PP3 project, where a new catalytic cracker has been started up since December 2017, which added 92,000 tons/year of ethylene, 170,000 tons/year of propylene and 134,000 tons/year of BTX (benzene, toluene and xylene) to the existing capacity.
