A major domestic producer in Indonesia continues maintaining a firm stance on domestic LLDPE film cargoes this week as supply shortage remains in place. Latest offers see nearly $40/ton hike in price for LLDPE film, which weakening Indonesian Rupiah also plays a role.

The continuous hike in local LLDPE film is driving buyers to the import ground, where overseas sellers are more lenient in negotiation. “In the meantime, the local homo-PP market is very weak. Forward selling prices are way below price list and we think this condition might persist in the near term,” a market source informed. Such situation explained the active exporting activities from the producer over the past week for homo-PP yarn grade.
